Impartment of Mystic Teaching.

 

Mystic significance of the holy scriptures, and esoteric meaning of the ancient doctrines cannot be understood by reading books, or hearing scholarly lectures. Those blessed pupils who serve and live under the spiritual teacher, for life-long time with great reverence and devotion can understand and realise the Upanishads’ statements such as “Thou art That,” “I am Brahman,” “All indeed is Brahman,” etc.  Grace of the Guru gives the inner vision (of Atman).

Satguru communicates the secret knowledge of the Upanishads to his trusted disciples only after repeated entreaty and severe testing. According to the Upanishadic tradition the secret knowledge of Brahman may be imparted by a preceptor to his worthy son or to a trusted Sishya but not to another, whoever he may be, even if the latter should give him the whole earth surrounded by the water and filled with the treasures. After doing prostration to the blessed Guru, disciple should not turn his back to him and go away.  Even a child can be taught Vedanta provided the teacher knows very well what Vedanta truly means and how can it be applied to the different stages of life.

“Arthaturanam na Guror na bandhum.” That means a person who hankers after wealth, will not mind even to swindle Guru’s property.  Do not covet the wealth of the Guru.The blessed Guru who is a liberated one is ever peaceful and blissful. He has an equal vision and balanced mind. He is equal in honour and dishonour, censure and praise, pleasure and pain. He is free from egoism, pride, anger, lust and greed. He has no likes and dislikes, he has no attachment to anything. He is full of wisdom; he is childlike, he clears the doubts of the disciple merely by his presence or through his gracious look.To serve the poor and the sick, to serve the Guru and parents, to do charitable and noble acts, to possess knowledge of the Self by the grace of the Guru, is indeed a supreme blessing.  There is nothing so purifying as personal service of Guru.

Gurukripa is a trustworthy companion along the weary path to Moksha.

 

 

Grains of Enlightening Thoughts.

The true knowledge of the Creation is obstructed by perverse notions like considering the unpropitious women etc. as propitious, the false world as true, and the true atman as false and so on.

Fire is free from attachment and hatred. One, who goes near it, gets its warmth, others don’t. If the mind is afflicted with attachment and hatred, God does not manifest Himself therein

One, who is not equipped with detachment and faith, cannot be calm and collected, merely by renouncing action. As the careless, extrovert and animal-natured people are happy in conflicts and quarrels, similarly Ascetics too are seen to be engaged in evil deeds. Therefore yoga of selfless action is better than renunciation of action sans attachment. Asceticism, without detachment, faith and due reflection on the true nature of God, does not lead to God-realization.

The mirage water does not dry up in degree. Similarly, illusion too is not destroyed in phases. Mirage water is no more as soon as we know its true nature.

All things of the world are changing, are running towards the past; and you want; and you want to keep them ever present. This is the root cause of all your troubles.

Even in spite of yourself being sentient, you refuse to let go the non-sentient world. You are actually the beholder, but unfortunately, you consider yourself to be part of the scene.

When you aspire lie, ‘I must get such and such thing, or what I possess should never deteriorate; only then I shall be happy’, you are, in effect, trying to create a bondage for your sentient nature.

On the path of sadhana, in the pursuit of the Supreme goal, identification of oneself with the body, attachment with the body is a Gordian knot. Without cutting this knot, without crossing the quagmire of delusion, no aspirant can attain accomplishment. An aspirant is unable to cut this knot without the grace of the Sadguru.

Vedanta does not say, ‘Know yourself.’ Everyone knows oneself. Someone knows oneself to be poor and tries to be rich. Another one knows oneself to be sick and wants to be healthy. Someone knows oneself to be short and exercises to grow taller. Someone knows oneself to be dark complexioned and tries various remedies to become fair.

No, Vedanta does not say that. Vedanta says: ‘know yourself to be God.’ The root cause of misfortune in life is not general ignorance, but ignorance about the all important fact of one being God oneself. There is not much of gain or loss from the knowledge or ignorance of the body or the worldly affairs; but there is enormous loss from the ignorance of one’s inherent Divinity, and its knowledge is equally rewarding.

 

 

 

Self Realization is Easy

आत्मसाक्षात्कार करना ही मनुष्य जीवन का एकमात्र उद्देश्य है। जीव, जगत (स्थूल जगत, सूक्ष्म जगत) और ईश्वर – ये सब माया के अन्तर्गत आते हैं। आत्मसाक्षात्कार माया से परे है। जिसकी सत्ता से जीव, जगत, ईश्वर दिखते हैं, उस सत्ता को मैं रूप से ज्यों का त्यों अनुभव करना, इसका नाम है आत्मसाक्षात्कार। जन्मदिवस से भी हजारों गुना ज्यादा महत्त्वपूर्ण होता है। आत्मासाक्षात्कार दिवस। भगवान कहते हैं-
मनुष्याणां सहस्रेषु कश्चिद्यतति सिद्धये।
यततामपि सिद्धानां कश्चिन्मां वेत्ति तत्त्वतः।।
हजारों मनुष्यों में कोई विरला सिद्धि के लिए यत्न करता है और उन सिद्धों में से कोई विरला मुझे तत्वतः जानता है।
आत्मसाक्षात्कार को ऐसे कोई विरले महात्मा ही पाते हैं। योगसिद्धि, दिव्य दर्शन, योगियों का आकाशगमन, खेचरी, भूचरी सिद्धियाँ, भूमि में अदृश्य हो जाना, अग्नि में प्रवेश करके अग्निमय होना, लोक-लोकान्तर में जाना, छोटा होना, बड़ा होना इन अष्टसिद्धियों और नवनिधियों के धनी हनुमानजी आत्मज्ञानी श्रीरामजी के चरणों में गये, ऐसी आत्मसाक्षात्कार की सर्वोपरि महिमा है। साधना चाह कोई कितनी भी ऊँची कर ले, भगवान राम, श्रीकृष्ण, शिव के साथ बातचीत कर ले, शिवलोक में शिवजी के गण या विष्णुलोक में जय-विजय की नाईं रहने को भी मिल जाय फिर भी साक्षात्कार के बिन यात्रा अधूरी रहती है।
आज हमारी असली शादी का दिवस है। आज ईश्वर मिलन दिवस, मेरे गुरूदेव का विजय दिवस है, मेरे गुरूदेव का दान दिवस है, गुरूदेव के पूरे बरसने का दिवस है। दूसरी दृष्टि से देखा जाय तो पूरी मानवता के लिए अपने परम तत्त्व को पा सकने की खबर देने वाला दिवस आत्मसाक्षात्कार दिवस है। आज वह पावन दिवस है जब जीवात्मा सदियों की अधूरी यात्रा पूरी करने में सफल हो गया। धरती पर तो रोज करीब डेढ़ करोड़ो लोगों का जन्म दिवस होता है।
शादी दिवस और प्रमोशन दिवस भी लाखों लोगों का हो सकता है। ईश्वर के दर्शन का दिवस भी दर्जनों भक्तों का हो सकता है लेकिन ईश्वर-साक्षात्कार दिवस तो कभी-कभी और कहीं-कहीं किसी-किसी विरले को देखने को मिलता है। जो लोक संत हैं और प्रसिद्ध हैं उनके साक्षात्कार दिवस का तो पता चलता है, बाकी तो कई ऐसे आत्मारामी संत हैं जिसका हमको आपको पता ही नहीं। ऐसे दिवस पर कुछ न करें तब भी वातावरण में आध्यात्मिकता की अद्भुत तरंगें फैलती रहती हैं।
आसोज सुद दो दिवस, संवत बीस इक्कीस।
मध्याह्न ढाई बजे, मिला ईस से ईस।।
देह मिथ्या हुई पढ़ते तो हो, बोलते तो हो लेकिन देह कौनसी, पता है जो दिखती है वह स्थूल देह है, इसके अंदर सूक्ष्म देह है। विष्णुभक्त होगा तो विष्णुलोक में जायगा, तत्त्वज्ञान नहीं है तो अभी देह मिथ्या नहीं हुई। अगर पापी है तो नरकों में जायेगा फिर पशुयोनि में आयेगा, पुण्यात्मा है तो स्वर्ग में जायेगा फिर अच्छे घर में आयेगा, लेकिन अब न आना न जाना, अपने आपमें व्यापक हो जाना है। जब तत्त्व ज्ञान हो गया तो देह और आकृति का अस्तित्व अंदर टिकाने वाला शरीर मिथ्या हो गया। स्थूल शरीर, सूक्ष्म शरीर और कारण शरीर सारे बाधित हो गये। जली हुई रस्सी देखने में तो आती है लेकिन उससे आप किसी को बाँध नहीं सकते। ऐसे ही जन्म जन्मांतरों की यात्रा का कारण जो अज्ञान था, वह गुरु की कृपादृष्टि से पूरा हो गया (मिट गया)। जैसे धान से चावल ले लिया भूसी की ऐसी-तैसी, केले से गूदा ले लिया फिर केले के छिलके को तुम कैसे निरर्थक समझते हो, ऐसे ही शरीर होते हुए भी-
देह सभी मिथ्या हुई, जगत हुआ निस्सार।
हुआ आत्मा से तभी, अपना साक्षात्कार।।
आज तो आप लोग भी मुझे साक्षात्कार-दिवस की खूब मुबारकबादी देना, इससे आपका हौसला बुलंद होगा। जैसे खाते पीते, सुख-दुःख, निंदा स्तुति के माहौल से गुजरते हुए पूज्यपाद भगवत्पाद श्री श्री लीलाशाहजी बापू, रामकृष्ण परमहंस, रमण महर्षि अथवा तो और कई नामी-अनामी संत समत्वयोग की ऊँचाई तक पहुँच गये, साक्षात्कार कर लिया, ऐसे ही आप भी उस परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार कर सकते हैं, ऐसे ही साक्षात्कारी पुरूषों के इस पर्व को समझने सुनने से आत्मचाँद की यात्रा करने का मोक्षद्वार खुल जाता है।
मनुष्य तू इतना छोटा नहीं कि रोटी, कपड़े मकान, दुकान या रूपयों में ही सारी जिंदगी पूरी कर दे। इन छूट जाने वाली असत् चीजों में ही जीवन पूरा करके अपने साथ अन्याय मत कर। तू तो उस सत्स्वरूप परमात्मा के साक्षात्कार का लक्ष्य बना। वह कोई कठिन नहीं है, बस उससे प्रीति हो जाये।
असत् पदार्थों की और दृष्टि रहेगी तो विषमता बढ़ेगी। यह शरीर मिथ्या है, पहले नहीं था, बाद में नहीं रहेगा। धन, पद ये मिथ्या हैं, इनकी तरफ नजर रहेगी तो आपका व्यवहार समतावाला होगा। धीरे धीरे समता में स्थिति आने से आप कर्मयोगी होने में सफल हो जाओगे। ज्ञान के द्वारा सत् असत् का विवेक करके सत् का अनुसंधान करोगे और असत् की आसक्ति मिटाकर समता में खड़े रहोगे तो आपका ज्ञानयोग हो जायगा। बिना साक्षात्कार के समता कभी आ ही नहीं सकती चाहे भक्ति में प्रखर हो, योग में प्रखर हो, ज्ञान का बस भंडार हो लेकिन अगर साक्षात्कार नहीं हुआ तो वह सिद्धपुरूष नहीं साधक है। साक्षात्कार हुआ तो बस सिद्ध हो गया।
इस महान से महान दिवस पर साधकों के लिए एक उत्तम तोहफा यह है कि आप अपने दोनों हाथों की उँगलियों को आमने सामने करके मिला दें। होंठ बंद करके जीभ ऐसे रखें कि न ऊपर लगे न नीचे, बीच में रखें। फिर जीव-ब्रह्म की एकता का संकल्प करके, तत्त्वरूप से जो मौत के बाद भी हमारा साथ नहीं छोड़ता उसमें शांत हो जायें। यह अभ्यास प्रतिदिन करें, कुछ समय श्वासोच्छवास की गिनती करें जिससे मन एकाग्र होने लगेगा, शक्ति का संचय होने लगेगा। धीरे-धीरे इस अभ्यास को बढ़ाते जायेंगे तो तत्त्व में स्थिति हो जायेगी। जीवन की शाम होने के पहले साक्षात्कारी महापुरूषों की कृपा की कुंजी से साक्षात्कार कर लेना चाहिए।
